CONTEST RULES:
The camera must be on a tripod
The microphone must be external and on or above the stage
iPhones and Androids are great to use, but teams must use external mics
Anthems will be performed on a stage in one take
These rules are in place to create a baseline of quality for the Anthem one-acts that will be conceptualized, written, performed, and observed in the casts’ best versions. This mode of creation enables the voting and judging of the one-acts to be more effective. It also promotes the growth of this contest.
Video are to be uploaded on Youtube with #chaseaesthetics! hashtag
Email Rob@chaseaesthetics.org your teammates’ names, your school, and how you documented your service in your community.
For each Anthem, there will be a shared service in the community. Students will be asked to volunteer their time in their community or school based on their idea and document what they did and why. Their mentor will help them organize this and execute it.
Their service can only be documented on social media, but social media cannot be the lone venue. The in-person experience is visceral. The videos will be posted on Youtube with the #chaseaesthetics! embedded on the contest website. The videos will be judged through the secure voting website, eballot.com in order to protect the integrity of the voting process. This contest is for students and by students and driven by solving problems in communities. Students will showcase their work on social media sites and use their CV, college, or graduate school application. Mentors will secure existing quality sound and lighting design in theaters for teams.
