THEORY TO PRACTICE: WHY DEVELOP Chase Aesthetics!?
Imagine every theater department in the country competing with each other every schools’ and universities’ students. This contest could become an ongoing conversation for many.
Students competing on how to change the world and graduate debt-free is more than exciting. It may be life-changing. A more connected arts community on college campuses will boost academics, social connections, and the integrity of students, staff, and the community. The contest brings original narrative art to people at no cost. This competition will allow students to takes the web’s social aspect and turns it into positive and truthful expressions of art.
Chase Aesthetics! seeks to promote, foster, and spread students’ visions manifested in videos at exponential scales. As I speak to in teaching, at times there becomes contagious positive energy in academia. Chase Aesthetics! has an infectious positive energy mission.
There are tens of thousands of Peakers out there walking into American institutions each morning. Due to the nature of theater production compared to film and video, these students are constantly auditioning and refining their acting work as they progress at the moment without video. Pure theater conveys meaning to audiences at the moment to find the actors’ being in live performance to be the most meaningful embodiment of the human condition live in front of them. Nothing else matters in that moment but the actors being and becoming on stage. They represent a talent pool that cannot be measured and may be exponential. Chase Aesthetics! probes each to astonish the world of the form of one-act Anthems from the empty page.
